Yamini
Mishra, Executive Director
Yamini, currently the Executive Director of CBGA, started
working in 2005 in the capacity of the Coordinator of the Centre.
She has taken keen interest in developing all aspects of CBGA's
work-- its advocacy, research as well as its admin and finance
procedures.
Although Yamini has been associated with diverse national,
regional and international organisations in the past, the axis
of her work has been on women's rights and now she focuses
on Feminist Economics. She has been associated with different
women's groups and has been appointed by the Planning Commission
on various committees looking at different dimensions of Feminist
Economics.

Harsh
Singh Rawat
He is working as Office assistant at CBGA since April 2005.
Ranjeet
Singh
Ranjeet joined CBGA in March, 2007. He possesses vast experience
in the field of Finance and Accounts. Some of his works include,
being part of the Finance supporting and Audit team in USAID
supported projects including MOST India and Environmental Health
Project (EHP) in addition to support in organizations such
as ICRW, Winrock International, IFES and SEWA etc. Prior to
joining CBGA, he was working at HelpAge India, New Delhi.
Presently he is working as Accounts and Admin Officer in CBGA
as well as pursuing Masters in Human Rights.
Sumita
Gupta
Sumita joined CBGA Team in March 2008. She has vast experience
in the field of finance and accounts and possesses Bachelors
in Commerce from Delhi University. Presently she is working
as Accounts and Administration Assistant at CBGA.
ADVOCACY TEAM
Bhumika
Jhamb
Bhumika joined CBGA in February, 2007. She has a Bachelor’s
in Home Science and Masters in Community Resource Management
and Extension from Lady Irwin College, Delhi University. Participation
in Study Exchange Programmes has helped her gain an international
perspective of various issues, specifically on HIV/AIDS.
Presently, she is primarily involved in media advocacy and
also working on various issues of public policy such as maternal
health and gender budgeting at CBGA. She has keen interest
in studying gender issues.
Deepak
L Xavier
Deepak is a founding staff of CBGA. He has worked in various
capacities in the Centre since its inception. He is a trainer
and researcher. He has trained over 800 grassroots activists
and NGO professionals on budget analysis and advocacy across
India. He has written a number of articles and reports on governance
and policy issues in various publications.
Deepak is currently looking after Centre’s capacity
building initiatives. He has keen interest in public policy
research and effective re-capacitation of civil society activists
on governance and public policy.
Khwaja
Mobeen Ur Rehman
Khwaja joined CBGA team in September 2004 as a Data Entry
Operator. He has attained his education from Jamia Millia Islamia.
He has extensive experience in primary data collection and
compilation and tabulation.
He is presently working on Minority issues in addition to
providing research support to the team.
Siba
Shankar Mohanty
Siba Sankar Mohanty has been associated with CBGA in various
capacities. He has led the Research Team at the centre from
October 2004 till April 2006. His major areas of interest include
social sectors and rural development. He has a Master’s
degree in Analytical and Applied Economics from Utkal University
and his M. Phil in South Asian Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru
University.
Currently he is working with the Centre as an Advocacy Officer.
RESEARCH TEAM
Gyana
Ranjan Panda
Gyana joined the CBGA team in August, 2007. He has worked
extensively on various domains of Indian Education namely:
Peace Education, Entrepreneurial Education, Educational Stress
in the secondary school children, etc. in addition to working
at NCERT. After completing M.Phil from JNU, he is now pursuing
Ph.D.
Currently, he is working on a research project at CBGA.
Indranil
Mukhopadhyay
Indranil joined CBGA in February, 2007. He is also pursuing
Doctoral Research in JNU and his area of research is “Public
Expenditure in Health in Indian States”. He has worked
with organizations like Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, New
Delhi where he worked on impact of liberalization on health
sector and also Rajib Gandhi Foundation, New Delhi, where he
worked on SPS and TBT measures and implications for public
health in India.
He is presently working with CBGA as a Research Associate
on a project entitled “Safe Motherhood and Public Provisioning
in India”. Apart from maternal health, his other areas
of interest are public provisioning in health, liberalization
and trade in health services, health inequalities etc.
Jawed
A. Khan
Jawed joined CBGA in August, 2007. He has completed M.Phil
in Economics and possesses vast experience in the field of
research, especially in Uttar Pradesh. His area of specialization
is Rural Development and Development Institutions.
Currently, he is working as a Research Associate at CBGA.
Kaushik Ganguly
Kaushik joined CBGA in January, 2008. He has completed M.Phil
in Economics from Centre for Economic Studies and Planning,
JNU. He possesses vast experience in issues of fiscal federalism
and State Government finances. His areas of interest include
decentralization, gender budgeting, budgeting for climate change
and nature conservatism.
Nilachala
Acharya
Nilachala joined CBGA as Research Officer in April, 2008.
He has done M. Phil. in Economics from Berhampur University
and his core expertise lies in analyzing State Budgets and
advocacy with several stakeholders. His major areas of interest
include financing for social sector, agriculture and budgeting
for the Tribals and Dalits.
Pooja
Parvati
Pooja has been part of the Research Team of CBGA since February
2006 and worked on issues related to Education. She is trained
as a geographer (BA Hons. - Miranda House; MA - Delhi School
of Economics), completed the M Phil programme (Planning and
Development) from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai in
2002 and has been working in the Development sector since.
Presently she is focusing on Analysis of Public Expenditure
for Children at the District Level.
Ram
Gati Singh
Ram Gati has been associated with CBGA since January, 2008
as Research Officer. He has done M Phil. In Economics from
Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, JNU and is currently
pursuing Ph.D in Economics on Socioeconomic Inequality across
Social Groups at CESP, SSS II, JNU. His areas of interest include
issues of Macroeconomics, Public Finance and Budgetary Policy
and Development Economics. At CBGA, he is presently working
on the issues relating to Fiscal Responsibility and Budget
Management Act, Tax Exemptions, Consequences of Liberalisation
of Interest Rate Determination and the ‘Demonetisation’ of
Fiscal Deficits.
Sakti
Goldar
Prior to joining CBGA in September 2007, Sakti worked in CBGA
from October 2005 to January 2007 mainly on the issues related
to health, centre state fiscal transfers, marginalized groups
like dalits and adivasis etc. He has done Bachelor’s
in Economics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata and M. A. and
M. Phil from Jawaharlal Nehru University. His research work
in M. Phil. was broadly on some aspects of ‘Health Care
Financing’.
Presently his major responsibility is to coordinate the research
project on the state budget through the lens of children.
Trisha Agarwala
Trisha joined CBGA as Research Officer in February, 2008.
She has extensively worked at the grassroots, involved actively
in primary data generation and management and project development
for monitoring and evaluation of rural development programmes.
In the last 2 years she has been involved in the monitoring
of numerous Centrally Sponsored schemes especially related
to Water and Sanitation She possesses Masters in Sociology
from JNU and also holds a Diploma in French. Currently, she
is associated with research related to maternal mortality and
audits.
