India ratified the Paris Agreement (on Climate Change) on 2nd October 2016, the day of Gandhi Jayanti. India's U.N. Ambassador Syed Akbaruddin handed over the official documents on ratification of the Paris agreement to the chief of the U.N. Treaty Section, Santiago Villalpando, at an event organised in New York to commemorate ‘International Day on Non Violence’.
