Prayashi is working as a Research Associate with CBGA. She is interested in the issues of gender, intersecting especially with the fields of education, media and work. Currently, she is working on a project related to Gender Equity in School Education in India.

Prior to joining CBGA, she coordinated a project on 'urban women and work in the unorganised sector', which focused on inclusion of domestic workers in public policy in the state of Assam. She has also volunteered for the cause of safety and security of women and children through several networks of organisations in Assam.

She completed her Masters in Women's Studies from Gauhati University.
