Shiney Chakraborty has been working in the area of  women empowerment and development for the past few years. Her core areas of research interest include women’s economic empowerment by enabling access to labour markets, engendering macro-economic policies to introduce a gender lens and analysing public policies using the same. At CBGA, Shiney works on agriculture policies and budgetary issues.

 She completed her Ph.D. in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Prior to joining CBGA, she worked as an Assistant Professor at Amity University, Noida. She has also worked with the Institute of Social Studies Trust and the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy in various capacities.
