After the pandemic when schools reopened, there were concerns whether schools are equipped to deal with the influx of students, will they be able to  bring back students who dropped out – or how the teachers will work towards mitigating the learning crisis. This paper provides a snapshot of the educational status of children during the COVID years and analyse government policies and budgets towards mitigating educational deprivation that has been created during COVID-19 to understand where the gaps are and what needs to be done to make the system sustainable.
